Steel Grate Stolen and Marijuana Found: Brecksville Police Blotter

The following incidents were reported by the from May 22 to 23. The information was compiled from police reports.

Stolen grate
Police learned about a stolen catch basin grate on Noble Park Drive on May 23. A county sanitation employee told the officer that he saw three men in a truck with a tool box in the back hanging out in the area shortly before he discovered the missing steel cover. The area was blocked off until repairs could be made.

Call of suspicious person turns into traffic stop, discovery of drugs
Police were called to a home in the 9500 block of Brecksville Road at 8:33 a.m. on May 22. The resident said a man had tried to open the front door and then ran off.

While police were looking for the man, an officer spotted a pick-up truck without a front plate on Chapel Hill Drive and pulled the driver over. The driver, a 23-year-old Northfield man, said he was lost. He was looking for Mill Road, where he was supposed to be spreading mulch with friends. The officer could smell marijuana in the car. The driver was under suspension. Police brought him out of the truck and searched it; they found a bag of marijuana, which the driver said was his. The passengers were let go. The driver was charged for the possession of hallucinogens, driving under suspension and display of license plates.
