Vandalism Reported at Elementary School and Closed VA Causes Confusion: Brecksville Police Blotter

The following incidents were reported by the from April 30 to May 2. The information was compiled from police reports.

Vandalism reported at Chippewa Elementary School
Employees from called the police on May 2 to report a damaged skylight. A custodian had noticed that it was leaking the night of April 30th, and went on the roof the next day to check it out. It looked like someone had gotten on the roof and kicked the skylight. There were bits of the broken light inside the fixture.

Man needs help getting home
An officer was called to at 9:48 p.m. on April 30 regarding a man in the company’s lobby. The man had reportedly been dropped off by the RTA at the , not knowing it was closed, and was trying to get back to Akron. The 51-year-old Canton man smelled of alcohol and it was difficult for the officer to understand him. He told the officer he had been at the Cleveland VA location earlier in the day and wasn’t sure where he was. The officer tried to reach some members of the man’s family, but was unable. The man was charged with public intoxication and held until he was sober or someone could pick him up.
