5 Things You Need to Know This Week, Aug. 29 – Sept. 4

From meetings to local events, there's plenty going on this week in Brecksville.

  1. City Council is holding a to appoint a new law director at 9 a.m. on Monday.
  2. State Representatives Marlene Anielski and Mike Dovilla are hosting a meeting with local business owners Tuesday at Broadview Heights City Hall. According to a press release, the meeting will focus on what laws owners feel restrict businesses and on any suggestions the owners have for future legislation. 
  3. Learn more about the plants and insects in the with the “Little Walk in the Park” program at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. According to the Metroparks website, the program begins at the Brecksville Nature Center. 
  4. The will be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday for Labor Day weekend, according to the library’s website
  5. There’s a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at , according to the American Red Cross website. Donors will receive a T-shirt and be entered into a contest for a chance to win a trip to Disney World.
