Brecksville Facing Gravesite Shortage?

The city is considering part of the city-owned Blossom Hill property for a new cemetery.

The west end of the city-owned Blossom Hill property could become a home to a new cemetery.

Cleveland.com reported that with Brecksville running low on available final resting places, the administration is considering using a portion of the 185-acre property for some additional gravesites.

Although no decision has been made, council discussed the idea at a special work session last week.

It’s not clear how much the project would cost — or how many plots the new site could hold — but Mayor Jerry Hruby said it may be necessary.

According to the Cleveland.com report, the Brecksville Cemetery has only 44 available gravesites remaining out of more than 5,000.
