Brecksville Police Department Buying Tasers

Each Taser is equipped with a small video camera that begins rolling as soon as the unit is deployed from its holster.

The Brecksville Police Department is buying five Tasers as a way to help fight crime in the city, and defuse potentially dangerous situations.

“We had a situation last year that was really bad. A Taser would have helped.”

Every officer carrying a unit will be required to take a class, to learn how use the device safely — and appropriately.

Hruby said he was once against using Tasers, but changed his stance when he learned that each of them will come equipped with cameras.
