City Council Votes to Buy Land on Stadium Drive, Approves Fee Increase for Therapy Pool for Nonresidents

Brecksville City Council had a , appointing an , and in the city. Here are a couple of other issues that were addressed:

• Council members approved the city paying a month-to-month fee of $3,345.60 to Time Warner for maintenance of its fiber network until a long-term solution is reached. Time Warner will stop offering the service for free in January, and the .
• Council members approved an increase in fees for non-residents who want to use the 's therapy pool. The fees will increase from $60 annually to $100 in 2012. Mayor Jerry N. Hruby estimated that about 30 percent of people who use the city’s therapy pool are nonresidents.
• The will enter into an agreement with the Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services. Police Chief Richard E. Mannarino said the agreement would help the city establish operating procedures for investigating abuse of children. Hruby added that the agreement is designed to create continuity between the city’s procedures and the county’s.
• The city will purchase three parcels of land on Stadium Drive. Hruby said the city would like to use at least part of the property for a retention area for floodwater.
