City Gets Prepared for Katherine, Riverview Projects

Steps taken to issue bonds for access road, sewage construction as part of upcoming improvements

The city of Brecksville approved the rolling over of short-term notes on Tuesday in preparation for issuing bonds for improvements on and for the Riverview Road Sanitary Sewer.

The Katherine Blvd. project is slated for $1.2 million for an access road and various sewage and electrical projects, while Riverview Rd. is listed at $900,000. The bonds will be issued in September and assessments will be collected in 2013, Council President Greg Skaljac said in an e-mail.

The Katherine Blvd. project began five years ago with the data center, and residing in the corridor.

Both projects are in the early stages of the assessment process, Skaljac said.

Skaljac stated things are moving along as they need to on the sewer project.

“I believe the project is now complete other than some final yard repairs, etc. The sewer is working according to plan and residents are starting to get quotes to connect to the sanitary sewer,” Skaljac said.
