Council OK’s Culvert Replacement Proposal

Amber Lane culvert eyed for upcoming replacement.

The culvert at 7603 Amber Lane is the last of four around the city slated for replacement.

On Tuesday, Brecksville City Council OK’d a $9,000 proposal to allow Donald G. Bohning & Associates to prepare improvement plans, contract bid documents and access easements for the project.

“Upon authorization, the surveying and base mapping services would commence immediately (depending on snow cover) and engineering would commence upon completion,” according to the engineer’s report shared with city council.

It’s not clear how much the project itself would cost, however the estimated total cost for the Snowville Road culvert replacement project in 2012 was $324,000.

“This culvert replacement was brought to the city’s attention by the abutting property owner and in review, it was determined that this is one of four culverts the city had committed to replace,” according to the report.
