Milano Monuments placed a new eagle statue on top of the veterans’ memorial in Public Square Thursday morning. City Council approved the replacement during .
The original statue was vandalized in 2010, shortly after it was installed. The new statue cost $6,000, which was paid for using money collected from the families of the young adults who had vandalized the original. That incident happened before Brecksville Patch got started, but the Sun Star-Courier has a story on the incident and the apology after.
