Raising the Roof at the Brecksville Community Center

Work on the new roof is expected to begin in September.

The city’s community center is getting a new roof.

Brecksville City Council approved the new, $185,000 roof at its meeting last week.

“It’s a significantly different roof than we have now,” said city service director Ron Weidig. “It’s a more reliable roof — a 30-year roof.”

Garland Company, the firm selected for the job, will apply a “hot-mop” technique to replace the roof.

“We’ve got to get this roof done,” Weidig added. “It’s well past its life.”
