Route 82 Bridge Closed for Construction

The Ohio Department of Transportation has closed state Route 82 again, this time at the bridge at the Summit/Cuyahoga county line.

The road closure began on Tuesday and is expected last one week.

The suggested detour is state Route 21 to state Route 303 to I-271 to state Route 8.

A message sign is posted at routes 21 and 82 to alert trucks to use the detour and proceed south on 21. 

Construction workers are also on hand, should motorists approach.

“There will be ongoing repairs to the bridge structure from underneath that should be completed by early October,” according to a news release.

Equipment for those repairs will be set up in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
