Several Road Projects Slated for Brecksville This Summer

Here's a quick look at some of the major repaving and concrete projects the city will be taking on.

It’s going to be a busy season for the orange barrels in Brecksville.

There are several road projects, totaling nearly $1.2 million, slated to begin this month. .

The proposal to repave Farview Road has been postponed until 2014 because of the stormwater/sewer replacement project this summer, said Ron Weidig, the city’s service director.

“It’s going to be a lot of work,” he said, adding that roads won't necessarily need to close for the repairs.

Here are the streets getting some fresh asphalt pavement this summer, starting after July 8:

  • Pershing Drive
  • Oakhurst Circle
  • Oakhurst Drive: from Oakhurst Circle to Forestdale
  • Glen Eagle:
  • Rockledge:
  • Windswept: from State Route 82 to Lake Park.
  • The city is also going to repave the city’s municipal parking lot, as well as several “patch” jobs.

“Brecksville does it differently than everyone else,” Weidig said. “We do our own paving.”

The city also has a few concrete slab/curb/sidewalk projects lined up, but those projects have been bid out. That work is spread out around the city, at a total cost of $321,997. Those projects are slated to begin later this month.

  • Log Cabin
  • Deer Run
  • Old Orchard at Hickory Ridge
  • Gatewood
  • Boxelder
  • Seth Payne entrance
  • Riverview North Hill
  • Chautaqua
  • Hinckley and Hickley cul-de-sac
  • Potomac
  • Crabtree at Timber
  • Meadow Lane
  • Lake Park
  • Windswept at 82
  • Old Royalton

The city will also spend about $80,000 to repaint the streets.
