Some Buildings, Businesses Closed for Labor Day
Save time by checking ahead before heading out to run errands on Monday.
For many, today is the last day of a long weekend.
That means a number of government entities and local businesses have given employees the day off, too, so if you’re planning to run errands, you might want to check ahead.
- Most city buildings will be closed today, according to the city’s calendar. That includes and the .
- It also includes the Service Department. The department’s website notes that Monday recycling and trash pick-up will be delayed until Tuesday.
- If you were hoping to get a workout in today, you’re in luck – the will be open, but only from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., according to the city calendar.

- Local schools—including those in the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District, South-Suburban Montessori School, the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center and Stautzenberger College—are closed today, according to their websites.
- If you forgot something for your cookout today, you might want to know that is closed. The store posted a notice for customers.
