Work on Route 82 Wrapping Up

City officials had hoped to have to have the closure wrapped up by the time school buses began routes. Done and done.

The orange barrel blues are coming to end this week on state Route 82 in Brecksville.

The detour signs are coming down, the asphalt is poured and spread and crews are wrapping up work to replace a failed culvert.

All that’s left is packing up the equipment.

“Everything is going to be off the road this week,” he said. “We’ve been overall very pleased with the project.”

Because SR 82 is a main artery of traffic, city officials had hoped to have to have the closure wrapped up by the time school buses began routes.

The failed culvert had caused some slippage and barriers were posted to keep drivers away from the area until construction begins.

Earlier this year, city officials learned that the city is receiving a grant for $230,000 for construction costs from the Ohio Department of Transportation

After lots of rain slowed the contractors’ schedule, the closure of state Route 82 was delayed.
