Community Events Highlight The Village at Marymount's Calendar

As the warm weather slowly infiltrates Northeast Ohio, The Village at Marymount is planning two outdoor events that are certain to bring the community together to enjoy a day of fun and fitness -- and another day of treasure hunting.

First up is The Village at Marymount’s first community Block Walk, which will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 17. The event is free of charge and features a self-guided walking tour of The Village at Marymount, which includes Marymount Place and Villa St. Joseph.

Upon arrival, walkers will receive a map of the course. Volunteers will be stationed at various points along the course to provide information about The Village at Marymount, and to stamp each walker’s map to validate that the walker visited that station. Once walkers complete their card with stamps they will be eligible to win for door prizes.

“This Block Walk fits our wellness initiative by encouraging residents in the community to join us for an energizing fun walk while also learning more about The Village at Marymount and the mission of our sponsoring order, The Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis,” said Executive Director Sue Nall, RN, LNHA.

Light snacks will be available to all walkers, and entertainment will be provided by DJ June. Walkers and their families will be able to enjoy corn hole, face-painting, and other activities during the event.

If you are a garage sale or craft fair enthusiast, then you won’t want to miss The Village at Marymount’s Trash-2-Treasure Sale from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 21 in the Villa St. Joseph parking lot. The event, which is sponsored by The Village at Marymount and Home Instead Senior Care, will be held indoors should the day bring inclement weather.

“We are anticipating a terrific mix of vendors and items for this event,” Schaefer said. “This sale is the perfect way to turn your trash into treasure. There truly will be something for everyone to enjoy.”

Vendors, crafters, and garage sale enthusiasts can participate by purchasing booth/table space for just $25. To purchase your space, please call Nicole Pearch at 330-217-9664 for details.
