An Update on Central School's Student Council

Last week, we learned about the council's many community service projects.

Earlier this week, the Student Council at for its many community service projects, including its St. Patrick’s Day-themed Shamrock Sale for the Muscular Dystrophy Association

The students volunteered to write and read announcements for the sale, as well as give up some of their recess time to sell shamrocks to their classmates. 

After just the second day of the two-week sale, the students had already sold more than 400 shamrocks, said Robin Engler, a teacher at the school and one of council’s advisers. The sale wrapped up yesterday, and the total was tallied.

Paula Herzak, one of the secretaries in the office, said the students raised a total of $3,078 for the association.
