Back to School for Brecksville-Broadview Heights Students

School starts on Wednesday for students in the district.

Class starts Wednesday for students in the Brecksville-Broadview Heights schools. Here are a few things that might help as parents and kids are getting ready to start the new year:

  • The Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District has the bus routes posted on its website, broken down by the minute. The site notes that students should be waiting at their stop at least five minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive and that there might be delays at the beginning of the year.
  • The district site also has information on bus routes for students in private schools who are taking the district’s buses.
  • reminds readers to careful around school buses, whether you’re a driver or a student riding them.
  • is starting a new schedule this year that will give students more time in class. Principal Joseph Mueller said each class will be five minutes longer, which he said adds up to an extra 15 hours of learning during the year. School will start five minutes earlier and end 10 minutes later, running from 7:25 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The lunch period will also be shortened to 20 minutes, plus travel time to classes. Mueller said the school added more lunch periods so there will be fewer students in each. The bell schedule is available on the high school’s website
