Candidate statement:

I should be reappointed as a member of the BBHCSD for the following reasons: I bring a unique perspective and diversity to the board. I am the parent of three children, at three different schools in the district. I am an active volunteer in numerous organizations in both communities. Also, I am a former educator. It is this background that I feel is essential for one member to have on the board. Understanding, first hand, how certain financial choices impact departments, curriculum and personnel is essential.

I have proven to be a fiscally responsible board member. I have worked well with other board members to reach some very difficult financial decisions. The role of a board member is to unite not divide the community. Some candidates enjoy stirring up controversy to further an agenda they may have. I come to the board agenda free and wanting to facilitate communication not inhibit it.

Finally, I want to ensure that our district stays at its current excellent with distinction level. I want to make sure that we continue to provide teachers and children the tools and resources they need to maintain our current level. I have dedicated my life to education. Parents and stakeholders can feel confident about my priorities and how we use their money in the operation of our district.
