The district has a toll-free hotline that the community can use to report any type of threat.

This statement was emailed to Brecksville Patch Tuesday morning on behalf of the . Here is the statement in its entirety:

The Board of Education and the Administration of Brecksville-Broadview Heights School District extend their deepest sympathies to the victims of the Chardon High School shooting and their families. We will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

The safety of our students is the number one priority in the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Schools. We frequently review and update the District and individual buildings' Crisis Plans. For the past two years we have staged, with the assistance of local and county officials lock down drills, at two of our schools and have a third one planned for late March. Brecksville and Broadview Heights safety forces are frequently a presence in our schools. Our staff is and remains vigilant.

If you or your children perceive a possible danger, please immediately contact the building principal. Also, we have a toll-free hotline that provide an anonymous manner in which students and the community can report concerns, threats, harassment, abuse, or violence. The phone number is: 1-800-418-6423. As always, we encourage anyone to bring forth any information that will help us continue to provide a positive and safe school.
