If your children are already thinking about how to fill their summer days, you're in luck. There are a variety of camps going on this summer to help local kids learn a new sport or skill, explore the outdoors or express their creative side:
- The school district's BeeKeepers summer camp is accepting registration through May 25. According to the district's website, this year's camps will offer a variety of topics from "Kitchen Chemistry" to a book club.
- According to the Cleveland Metroparks’ website, there are a variety of camps available throughout the summer. The camps at the are “Camp Brecksville” and “Primitive Survival Skills Camp.” The first camp, which is available to a variety of age groups, focuses on exploring the reservation. The latter is available to children ages 12 to 15 and offers hands-on examples of survival skills, like how to build a shelter. Registration for the Cleveland Metroparks’ summer camps begins Tuesday morning for Cuyahoga County residents.
- The has a variety of career camps, which allow students in 7th, 8th and 9th grade to learn skills in different fields. The camps include fields like video game design and cooking, according to a press release. Registration is available online. Some of the camps are already full, so be sure to check soon!
