School District to Replace Visitor, Band Bleachers at Stadium

Board determines old seats needed to be junked at high school playing field

The approved the building of new band and visitor bleachers at theat a board meeting on Wednesday.

Dave York Sports will remove the current bleachers that were built in the 1960s and install new ones over the summer months. The district hopes the work will be completed before school starts, board president David Tryon said.

“There were two sets of bleachers that were in really bad shape and weren’t worth fixing. We needed to replace those,” Tryon said of the band bleachers. “To correct the safety problems with the visitor’s bleachers, that would require additional funds to fix that. So the prudent thing to do was to replace everything.”
