Student Design Earns Recognition at the Great Big Home and Garden Expo

A group of students from the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center won 10th place in this year's Student Model Home Design Contest.

A team of three students from the showcased their work at the earlier this year.

According to a press release from the career center, the team made up of Josh Antolovic of Brecksville-Broadview Heights, Dave Dombrosky of Nordonia and Mike Ames of Revere, took 10th place in the 2012 Student Model Home Design Contest. The top 10 models and drawings were displayed during the expo at the I-X Center, and the students won prizes.

This year’s theme for the contest was "Great Green Living: Deep Woods Vacation Cabin.” The entries included floor plans and models. They were judged on a variety of levels, from the design to the plans for energy conservation. More than 70 students entered this year, including two other groups of students from the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center.

The contest was sponsored by American Concrete Institute NE Ohio Chapter, Schill Architecture, Imaginit Technologies, Turner Construction and Marketplace Events.
