Tentative Agreement Reached on Teachers, Staff Union Contracts

The agreement still has to be ratified by all parties.

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights school board, teachers union and staff unions all reached tentative agreements on new contracts early Wednesday morning.

The new contracts still have to be ratified by the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Board of Education, Education Association and Organization of Support Staff, and no details are available at this time on when that will be.

Mike Ziegler of the Board of Education and Todd Jaeck of the Ohio Education Association confirmed that the tentative agreements were reached around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, a carryover from Tuesday’s planned negotiations session.

The unions and the board have been embroiled in a contentious set of negotiations since the spring. Both unions passed strike authorization votes earlier this summer. School begins on Aug. 29 for students.
