Senior Night for the Brecksville-Broadview Heights girls’ varsity lacrosse team came with cake, balloons, signs, and perhaps most importantly, a victory on Friday night.
The Bees trampled Beaumont, 18-8, in a non-league matchup at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School Stadium a few days before seedings are announced for the upcoming playoffs.
Coach Scott Schneider expects the Bees (12-2) to receive a No. 2 seeding behind Ottawa Hills of Toledo in Division III competition. Beaumont (2-9) is in Division II.
But before having to worry about the postseason pressure ahead of them, 12 seniors on the team waved goodbye to their high school careers, but hello to the future in front of them.
Those Bees carrying their sticks for the last time are Cristel Baterina, Julie Biscotti, Brittney Esther, Nicole “Fogie” Fantozzi, Hannah Fiore, Melia Kovach, Julia Maraczi, Amy Melena, Simi Mudher, Megan Rimac, Lauren Vajda and Rachel Wolfe.
