The Brecksville-Broadview Heights wrestling squad beat its school record sending nine wrestlers to the upcoming state tournament.
The most that the school had sent before was six, according to the Plain Dealer.
The Bees finished second at the district tournament over the weekend, coming in behind perennial powerhouse St. Edward High School.
The squad had three champs: brothers Austin (106) and Aaron Assad (113) and Quinton Hiles (160).
According to the Plain Dealer, the Bees had seven finalists — nearly matching the Eagles 11 qualifiers — but they lost two "go-to" state qualifying matches in the consolation semifinal round.
"I'm pretty proud of the fact we had seven finalists in a pretty . . . good district,” Brecksville coach Todd Haverdill told the Plain Dealer.
