Fall Sports through the Brecksville Recreation Department

Check out the different sports for all ages offered by the city.

The has a lot of different sports and activities lined up for the fall for all ages. 

If you’re looking for a new way to get involved, check out these different sports for adults, teens and kids. Registration for most has either already started or starts soon. 

The following information is from the brochures on the Brecksville Recreation Department website. Click the links to see the brochures for more information, like exact dates and prices for each activity.

Youth sports:

  • Start Smart soccer program, for ages 3 to 5: This parent-child program teaches the essentials of soccer. Registration for residents began Aug. 1 and ends Sept. 5. 
  • Soccer Academy, for ages 4 to 8: The program teaches the basics of the sport. It’s split into three different age groups. Registration for residents began July 1 and ends Aug. 21.
  • Boys and girls basketball, for grades 3 to 8: This recreational league is split into three age groups. Practice begins in November and games start in December. Registration begins for residents on Sept. 1 and ends on Oct. 16.
  • Youth wrestling, for boys ages 6 to 12: This developmental program begins in November. Registration for residents begins Sept. 1 and ends when the program is full. The brochure notes that space in the program is limited.

  • The Community Center has a number of swimming classes and programs for all ages, beginning at 6 months. Check the brochure to see what skills will be taught in each class. According to the brochure, parents can contact the Aquatic office before registering for classes to discuss what level children should sign up for. Registration for residents for all aquatic programs begins on Sept. 1. 

Adult sports:

  • Co-ed softball, for ages 18 and older: This team sport consists of a six-week season with a tournament at the end. The flier notes that leagues fill up quickly. Registration began Aug. 1 for residents and ends Aug. 21. 
  • Co-ed volleyball, for ages 18 and older: This team sport is divided into an advanced league and an intermediate league. There is a mandatory team manager meeting on Sept. 8. Registration began for residents on Aug. 1 and ends on Sept. 8.
