Get Out: Hale Farm Tour, Rummage Sale and Roller Derby

1. HALE FARM & VILLAGE TOUR

Where/When: Hale Farm & Village, 2686 Oak Hill Rd., Cuyahoga Falls; today and Friday at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Why Go: Students in preschool and up are invited to explore the regional traditions of Northeast Ohio and its people during the 1800s.

Price: $6 per student.

Where/When: Broadview Heights Recreation Center, 9543 Broadview Rd., Broadview Heights; Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Why Go: It's the third annual joint Health Fair for the Broadview Heights and Brecksville Human Services departments. Doctors and other health care professionals will be on hand to perform screenings that will include blood glucose, cholesterol, pulmonary function and bone density.

Price: Free.

3. NEO ROLLER DERBY

Where/When: Summit County Fairgrounds Arena, 1100 North Ave., Tallmadge; Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: All bouts are doubleheaders. Food and beer are available for purchase.

Price: $12 in advance, $15 at the door, kids 12 and under are free.

4. "IMAGINE THE PAWSIBILITIES" RUMMAGE SALE

Where/When: Stow-Kent Shopping Center, 4301 Kent Rd., Stow; Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: All proceeds from the sale benefits the Humane Society of Greater Akron, which rescues, heals, rehabilitates and finds forever homes for abused, neglected and abandoned animals of Summit County.

Price: Free entry.

Where/When: 26300 Cedar Rd., Beachwood; Sunday at 9 a.m.

Why Go: The race benefits The Gathering Place, a support center for people with cancer, and is part of the 23rd annual National Cancer Survivors Day.

Price: Advance registration for the 5K is $23 for adults, $18 for teens, $13 for youths 6-12 and free to kids 5 and under. Advance registration for the 1-mile is $20 for adults, $15 for teens, $10 for youths 6-12 and free for kids 5 and under.
