5 Things You Need To Know This Week, April 11 – April 17

The week may be quiet, but the weekend is filled with events.

  1. The is hosting a blood drive from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Find more details on the church’s website
  2. The will host a job seeker’s workshop from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday called the Job Fair Boot Camp. Bill Novak, career development supervisor, said the workshop will teach adults how to navigate a job fair successfully, from how to prepare to what to expect. The center will take registrations until April 15, Novak said.
  3. The Brecksville-Broadview Heights Schools Issues Committee will be holding a rally on Brecksville’s Public Square on Saturday, according to the committee’s website. For or against the levy, it may be good to note that the square could be crowded that day.
  4. The has a few events detailed in its program for Saturday. For little kids, a local author will be reading her book, The Mouse on Car No. 3, at 10 a.m. This will be followed by a craft. Later that day, there’s an all-ages chess tournament, beginning at 1 p.m. 
  5. And on Sunday, the library hosts “Brecksville: I Know That Place,” the second of . According to the library's program, the event begins at 2 p.m.
