Whiz Kids: The Volunteers at Friday's Safety Drill

Do you know an awesome kid? Nominate them to be our next Whiz Kid.

There are too many of them to name, but this week’s Whiz Kids definitely deserve the honor.

This morning, about 200 high school students filled ’s hallways and classrooms. The students got up early and gave up the first morning of their spring break to volunteer with the community-wide drill organized by the district’s safety committee. The drill helps school staff and local emergency personnel practice proper procedure during an emergency.

The students who volunteered their morning worked as actors, playing victims and suspects, as a camera crew to document the event and as bystanders, who helped make the drill more realistic.
