Brecksville Burntwood Tavern Open: Did You Stop By?

Brecksville’s newest restaurant opened up on Monday. If you stopped by for lunch or dinner, let us know what you thought in the comments.

The Burntwood Tavern officially opened the doors to its new Brecksville location on Monday, and the response has been great so far, said general manager Scott Fisher.  The staff put in a lot of work to update the old Spanish Tavern building the past two and a half months, adding new touches like a deck while refurbishing much of the original wood inside.  “We worked long and hard,” Fisher said. The restaurant includes a formal seating area, an upstairs for parties and events and a separate bar. The bar also includes a cozy set-up of a couch and soft chairs where guests can enjoy a full dinner near a fire.  For a menu and hours—including daily happy hours—check out Burntwood Tavern's website. Burntwood Tavern Looking to Open in December

The restaurant is still accepting applications.

Patch reader Wallace Huskonen posted an announcement Friday afternoon, saying the new Burntwood Tavern should be open in Brecksville by Dec. 3.  Well, we got Scott Fisher, the general manager at the Brecksville location, to confirm it, and Huskonen was right: the new Burntwood Tavern is planning to open up on Dec. 3, just in time for the holidays.   The opening is still a few weeks away, and Fisher suggested guests call ahead to confirm the open date. The date has been pushed back a bit already from its original November opening. The new restaurant’s number is (440) 546-7680.   Brecksville Patch will also be posting updates as the opening gets closer, so you can sign up for our free newsletter for the latest.   People have been working to …

Last Wednesday on our way to our daughter's house in Rochester, NY, we stopped in at the Burntwood Tavern in Solon for lunch. Another good experience! Have now been to all three and looking forward to Brecksville. Met and talked with Scott Fisher, who is the general manager of the new location. He confirmed the Dec 3 opening date, with a week and a half to go. Wally Huskonen   more ›

Burntwood Tavern Looking to Preserve, But Update, Familiar Building

The restaurant hopes to be an engaged part of the community, said its regional managing partner.

The people in charge at Burntwood Tavern are looking forward to becoming an integral part of Brecksville. “We want to be a part of the community,” said regional managing partner Ian Hopkins. The restaurant tries to treat customers as guests—they don’t even use the word customer, he said. That community mentality can get lost in bigger restaurant chains, Hopkins said, but it’s remained important to the Burntwood Tavern as they’ve expanded. The restaurant opened in Solon this summer and announced that it was opening in Brecksville earlier this month. Residents who are proud of Brecksville’s history will be glad to know the staff of the Burntwood Tavern is excited to build on the “natural beauty” of the old Spanish Tavern building. As of …

Well, Seared is Closed After All

A new restaurant, Burntwood Tavern, will be opening in that location.

That answers that question. Seared is obviously closed for good, because a new restaurant is planning to open in its place. Patch wondered about the state of the restaurant in July, after noticing that its parking lot had been awfully empty and customers were asking unanswered questions on its Facebook page. Patch’s calls were never returned, but residents don’t have to wonder any longer: the Burntwood Tavern is moving into the space at 8188 Brecksville Road. Details are still few about the new venture, but Brecksville Patch will keep you updated. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updates.

Burntwood Tavern to Open Brecksville Location

Details are few, but an agreement has been reached on a new tenant for the Old Spanish Tavern building.

The Burntwood Tavern is coming to Brecksville. The restaurant, which has locations in Chagrin Falls, Rocky River and Solon, announced the new Brecksville location on its Facebook page on Friday, saying it will open in November. There are no details on its website, but there is a “coming soon” mention of the Brecksville location. Nick Petrakis, who represents the landlord of the Old Spanish Tavern building at 8188 Brecksville Road, said an agreement with the Burntwood Tavern has been reached. Petrakis didn’t have any details on when the new restaurant would be open, but he said the employees of the Burntwood Tavern have been working hard getting the building ready. The building has been the home of Seared and Zeke’s Tavern in recent years. …

Hopefully this restaurant will do well. All the others lately never have fared very well for some reason. I enjoyed going to The Spanish Tavern many years ago but my favorite was when it was known as Marco Polo's. I'd take my daughter there every week to karaoke. Also, everyone who sang was fantastic. It was like going to a variety show and loads of fun. Maybe they need to get back to something …   more ›
