Video: Chippewa Students Jump for the Yuletide Hunger Program

This program has students learning how to jump rope, Double Dutch style, and how to give back at the same time.

Students at Chippewa Elementary School have been learning about staying active and giving back through the “Double Dutch for the Yuletide Hunger Drive." Learn more by watching the video above. If you’d like to contribute to the Yuletide Hunger Program, you can take nonperishable food items or toiletries to the Human Services Center by Nov. 30. The program supports local families in need during the holidays.

Watch Out: Missing School Zone Sign Near Chippewa Elementary

Parts to repair the sign have been ordered.

Drivers should pay special attention near Chippewa Elementary School, especially since one of the flashing school zone signs that normally remind drivers to slow down is missing. A careful reader emailed Brecksville Patch after noticing the sign’s absence. Director of Public Services Ron Weidig said the city is aware of the missing sign—it was blown over by some strong winds about three weeks ago. The city has ordered parts to repair the sign, and will install the new pole, base and sign as soon as they come in. Weidig said he’s expecting the new parts soon, but he didn’t have an estimated finish date. Have you spotted something around town that just doesn’t seem right?
