Brecksville Patch Looking for Fall Sports Bloggers

Interested in shining some light on the local sports scene? Why not consider becoming a Brecksville Patch blogger?

High School Football: Share Brecksville-Broadview Heights Game Photos Here

Whether you're a parent, in the band or on the team, Patch wants to see your Friday night football game photos!

Football season is in full swing! The fourth games of the season are tonight. The Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees will take on Berea at home starting at 7 p.m. It's Elementary School Night for the Bees, which means there will be some special activities for students in grades kindergarten through 5. All Sports, Other Activities Would be Suspended If There is a Strike

Brecksville-Broadview Heights school board President David Tryon said pay-to-participate fees would be refunded.

If the teachers strike this fall, all extracurricular activities—including sports—would be suspended, said Brecksville-Broadview Heights Board of Education President David Tryon. Tryon said in an email that the board, the administration and the athletic department were concerned with the “safety of the participants, the security issues and the needed coaching support” in the event of a strike. “We’re doing our best to negotiate in good faith,” Tryon said. The board and the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Education Association are scheduled to resume negotiations with the federal mediator on Aug. 16, Tryon said. Additional dates are scheduled for Aug. 21 and 24. The school board declared an impasse and announced its intentions to bring in a …
