The Greater Cleveland Aquarium opened Jan. 21 in Cleveland's historic Powerhouse. Check out the fish, sharks, mollusks and reptiles it houses. It costs $22 for an adult ticket; $16 for a child between two and 11. Guests can save time at the door by buying their tickets online.

Poll results reveal more people prefer not to have strollers at the facility.
You voted — 482 of you to be specific. At the point of writing this, 69 percent of voters prefer to ban strollers at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium. In the comments: Some valued the walking space. "Most aquariums have the same policy!...It was nice to not have to be blocked behind tons of strollers like the indoor areas at the zoo on a busy day," Amy Harper said. While others feel strollers are safer in crowds. "The rush? Would it not be safer for little children to be in a stroller so they do not get trampled?" asked Miranda EarthCaller. It's just a little over two weeks until the new Greater Cleveland Aquarium opens on the West Bank of the Flats. And there's a small controversy already. Management at the Aquarium, built in the First Energy Powerhouse, has decided to not allow strollers and wagons in the Aquarium. This has caused some upset among parents, who are posting on the Aquarium's Facebook page, and other pages, that the policy is unfair and discriminates against children. Others have posted that they're glad of the policy, one person saying they're sick of being run into by "SUV sized strollers" without even getting an apology. Aquarium management has stated that the policy is only in effect for the first few months, at least until the initial rush dies down. What…

We would like to see more options available...perhaps a discount if you purchase tickets in advance or on a slow day, a Sr discount and maybe a student discount!   more ›
