Frugal Family: Locally Grown Fruits and Veggies

Summer is the season for fresh and local produce.

One of the greatest things about the middle of summer in northeast Ohio is the season’s first taste of locally grown fruits and vegetables. Vine-ripened tomatoes, freshly picked zucchini and crisp green beans are just a few of the things that taste like summer. Here are some places nearby to find fresh, locally grown produce. 1. Cossel Farms, North Royalton  Deal: Owner John Cossel said that later this week they will be picking the first of this year's corn from their fields in North Royalton. This farm market also has other fruits and vegetables, as well as pumpkins in the fall and mulch, topsoil and firewood year-round. Good Until: The market is open from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. June 16 through October 31, 7 days a week. 2. Luther Farms …
