Got Drugs? Brecksville Police Department is Collecting Them

The police department, along with the school district’s Community Awareness and prevention Association, are hosting Operation Medicine Cabinet in an effort to collect unused or expired prescription drugs.

The police department, along with the school district’s Community Awareness and prevention Association, are hosting Operation Medicine Cabinet in an effort to collect unused or expired prescription drugs. The event is slated to take place at Brecksville Public Square from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 27. “It’s a way to clean out your medicine cabinet and turn this stuff in,” said Sgt. William Atsberger. “This way, nobody has access to them that shouldn’t have access.” A lane will be designated at the square — Brecksville and Royalton roads — for motorists dropping off the pills. Operation Medicine Cabinet Scheduled for Saturday

The event gives residents a safe and confidential way to drop off unwanted prescription drugs.

Do you have any unwanted or outdated prescriptions filling up your medicine cabinet? Get rid of them the safe way this Saturday at Brecksville’s Operation Medicine Cabinet, part of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. Locally, the event is being sponsored by the Community Awareness and Prevention Association and the local police departments. Brecksville’s drop-off program will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday on Public Square. Residents who want to take part in the confidential program can drop off their unwanted prescriptions during that time. 5 Things You Need to Know This Week, Oct. 24 – 30

From a medicine trade-in program to another Shred Your Documents Day, there are plenty of events to know about this week.

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights Board of Education meets at 7 p.m. on Monday in the education center. According to the agenda, the board will receive an update on the district’s five-year financial forecast. Leaf pick-up continues this week. There is no school for students in the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District on Friday. According to the district’s calendar, the first grading period ends on Thursday. The city is hosting another Shred Your Documents Day from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday in the municipal parking lot near the fire department.
