The road had been closed for a storm sewer project for months.
After nearly nine months, Riverview Road has been reopened. The road was closed to non-local traffic from Preston Village Drive to Chippewa Road this summer while a sanitary sewer was installed. It’s been patched up now, and the barricades were taken down on Monday, said Director of Public Services Ron Weidig. More detours will be popping up around Brecksville soon. Check out this list to see what projects the city is tackling this summer.

There is a failed culvert under the road.
Brecksville City Council approved a proposal from CTL Engineering Inc., to perform some tests on state Route 82 during its meeting Tuesday at City Hall. The project in question is a failed culvert under state Route 82—residents might have noticed a barrier of orange traffic cones blocking off the area on Royalton Road near the city line. City Engineer Gerald Wise brought up the problem at a council meeting in October, and members approved for Wise and Donald G. Bohning & Associates to create the design. The cost was not to exceed $20,000. At Tuesday’s meeting, they approved a bid of approximately $4,100 from CTL Engineering to do some geotechnical testing of the area and make recommendations to prevent future slippage.
