The news that the city needed a new one didn’t come as a surprise. The purchase had already been included in the 2013 budget, city officials …

Cupola Returned to the Top of City Hall

After about two and a half months of repairs, the cupola has been restored and placed on the top of City Hall just in time for Home Days.

This morning’s rain didn’t keep the employees from Campbellsville Industries and Atlas Crane and Rigging Inc. from putting the cupola back on City Hall.  Campbellsville Industries in Kentucky, the company that originally made the cupola, took it off in early April for repairs. Earlier today, employees from the company and Atlas Crane placed it back on the top of City Hall. The weather—and some unforeseen adjustments that needed to be made once the cupola was set on the roof—had caused some slight delays. As of 11 a.m., employees were just waiting to put on the finishing touches, like the weathervane.
