Patch is my first crack at professional journalism.

I graduated from Kent State University in 2010 with a degree in broadcast journalism. During that time I had two great internships with local media, spending nearly six months writing and reporting online and over the air for WAKR and AkronNewsNow.com in Akron.  After that, I worked on the web with WKSU in Kent.

I am proud to say I was a finalist in the 2010 William Randolph Hearst Awards for Television News. If you don't know news, that's a pretty high accomplishment.

Away from the web, I love spending time with my family, friends and beautiful wife Shannon.

A life long NE Ohio boy, I love (and sometimes hate) watching the Browns and the Buckeyes, occasionally screaming at the television! I love meeting new people and have been incredibly blessed to get to know the cities of Twinsburg and Solon and their people.

I strive to live for Christ, loving and serving others as he did.

As far as politics, I am not a huge fan of the system. However, I would say that I'm liberally conservative.

At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable. This disclosure is not a license for you to inject your beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that your beliefs are on the record will cause you to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know.
