Suspected Psilocybin, Marijuana Found Following Traffic Stop

The following information was supplied by the Brecksville Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 27-year-old Broadview Heights man was charged with drug possession after officers found suspected psilocybin and marijuana following a traffic stop on Interstate 77 at around 3:30 a.m. June 2.

After he was clocked traveling 82 mph — in a 60 mph zone — police stopped the vehicle. Officers spotted a baseball bat in the passenger seat and asked the man to search the vehicle for weapons, according to the report.

When they frisked him, they found what turned out to be suspected psilocybin (“magic mushrooms”) in his pocket. A search of the vehicle turned up a bag containing marijuana.
