Work on New Police Station Could Begin This Fall

At its recent meeting, city council learned that work on the new police station could begin soon.

The construction of Brecksville’s new police station could begin this fall, according to city officials. 

But first, the city would need to demolish a house — located across the street from the current fire station — to make way for the new police station.

Mayor Jerry Hruby recently gave an update on the plans to city council.

When the city of Brecksville built its city hall and the current police station more than 40 years ago, the size of the space worked out fine.

There were about 25 employees then. Today, there are about 130.

When the city builds its new police station, it will certainly need some additional space.
